Competition Update

With September 1st only a week away, the competition boundries are slowly starting to be defined. The rules, of course, will wait a little longer, but the structure of the competition has been announced.

Because of the more than impressive prize pool on offer and the amount of interest the competition is generating, it has been decided that there will be the choice of 6 seperate categories to enter your game into, the first of which has been announced both on the competition forum and over on the official competition blog.

The remaining 5 categories will be made general knowledge before the competition starts.

The prize list is growing rapidly, and with the promise of more to come, here is the list of sponsors already announced.

Cymon’s Games : Blackbox

Black box is an abstract hide and seek game. In its original form it was a board game with one person providing the setup, hints, and tallying score and the other player making guesses. Cymon’s Games: Hammurabi

Attack of Mutant Fruits from Outer Space

I remember, as a kid, watching “That’s Life” on telly. It would amuse me no end to see Doc Cox hold up a carrot shaped like a tadger and then start singing a self penned ditty about the particularly odd and often embarrassing situations you could find yourself in when handling mutant fruit.

Laugh no more. The mutant fruit are back, and this time they mean business….

It’s funny, isn’t it, how things can just come up and jump out at you? I was never really all that fussed with space. Sure, I love Star Wars, I doff my cap to the Kirk-meister when I think it correct to do so and, yes, if Trillian were to offer me her mind AND her body, I’d gladly take them both.

For me there was only 1 space game. Elite. The be all and end all. Elite.
